Gastro tour
This walk will reveal to you the true taste of Rome — the one that the locals live.
What awaits you
What do Italians talk about most often? About food. Italian cuisine is included in the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List, for Romans food — is a ritual, an important part of life. Why not combine food, atmospheric city streets and local legends into one journey? This walk will reveal to you the true taste of Rome — the one that the locals live. We will walk through the streets and squares of the city, visit proven places and taste what tourists often pass by. You will be able to try meat delicacies, truffle cheeses, pastries from a traditional bakery, the recipes of which have been passed down in the family for three generations in a row. Learn about the traditions of antiquity combined with modernity. We will also talk about Italian coffee — how it differs and why it tastes exactly like that. You will learn how to distinguish real Italian gelato from industrial gelato. We will visit a classic Roman street food establishment where you will taste soups, croquettes, trapizzinos, as well as a restaurant located on the remains of Pompey's ancient theater — where Julius Caesar was killed. During the walk, I will talk about the history of Roman cuisine, the origin of dishes, how they are prepared today and why they have exactly such names. We will talk about the traditions, habits and daily life of the Romans. And at every step – local legends and stories of the main squares and churches will await us. Tastings are paid separately — approximately 30 € per person (depending on the selected products).
