About the tour

What awaits you

Tivoli — is a city where time seems to slow down and open in layers: from antiquity to the Renaissance. Set among the hills near Rome, it has long attracted emperors, aristocrats and artists with its natural beauty and special atmosphere. We will visit Villa d'Este — a masterpiece of the 16th century and one of the most beautiful residences in Italy, created by Cardinal Ippolito II d'Este. We will walk through the halls with frescoes and descend into the famous garden with hundreds of fountains, cascades, grottoes and shady avenues. It was these gardens that became the inspiration for the creation of Versailles. Next, we will go for a walk through the medieval Tivoli — city of narrow stone streets, ancient temples and cozy squares. A real Italian atmosphere has been preserved here: quiet courtyards, craft shops, the aroma of coffee and the leisurely rhythm of life. Tivoli has been considered a place of rest for the Roman nobility since ancient times, and its landscapes inspired artists and poets. During the walk, we will talk about the history of the city, its transformation from an ancient resort to a medieval center, as well as about the people who shaped its character. If you wish, after the tour, you can stay for lunch in one of the best restaurants in the city.
